Privacy

This is a sensitive subject, and the correct engineering posture for a sensitive subject is to hold as little as possible. That principle drove the design decisions below, not the other way round.

The short version

What is collected

If you do not sign in: your runs are kept in your browser's local storage on your device. We do not receive them. Clearing site data erases them permanently. Inputs are transmitted to the model provider in order to be answered (see below), and are not retained by us.

If you sign in: we store your email address, an account identifier, and — for each run — the instrument used, the inputs you supplied, the output produced, timing and token counts, and a timestamp. That is what makes the bench log work across your devices. Sign-in is a one-time email link; we never store a password.

If you create a share link: the shared text, a title, a summary, and a view count are stored so the link resolves for other people. A share link is public to anyone holding the URL. It is not indexed by search engines, but treat it as public. Do not share anything you would not post.

Operational telemetry: we record coarse events — which instrument was opened, whether a share was created — with no request content. Our host, Vercel, processes standard request logs including IP address for security and abuse prevention, under its own terms.

Model processing

Your inputs are sent to Anthropic to generate output. Anthropic processes them as a service provider under its commercial terms. Do not paste information you would not want processed by a third-party provider — in particular, do not paste your own medical details, which the instruments neither need nor use.

Retention

Your controls

You can use the site anonymously; sign out at any time from the dot in the header; delete individual runs; clear device history by clearing site data; or request full deletion of your account and every record attached to it by writing to privacy@abortion.si. We action deletion requests within 30 days and confirm in writing.

Depending on where you live you may also have rights of access, correction, portability, restriction, and objection, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. Exercise them at the same address; we do not charge and we do not require you to explain why.

Legal bases (UK/EU)

Where GDPR applies: providing the instruments and your bench log rests on performance of a contract; security, abuse prevention and service integrity on legitimate interests; share links on your consent, given by creating one. We do not solicit special-category data and ask you not to supply it.

Cookies and storage

We set no advertising or analytics cookies. We use browser local storage for three things: your session token if you sign in, your device-local run history if you do not, and your “deep reasoning” toggle. Google Fonts is loaded from Google's CDN to serve typefaces; if you would rather avoid that request, self-host the two font files and remove the stylesheet link — the site is built to work either way.

Security

All traffic is served over TLS. The Anthropic key exists only in server-side environment variables and is never sent to the browser. Every database table has row-level security enabled; the key published to your browser can read only your own rows. Share links use unguessable identifiers.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

Material changes will be published here with a new version and effective date.
